LatAm CRO Forum and Oliver Wyman Workshop

LatAm CRO Forum and Oliver Wyman Workshop

November 2-3, 2009, Miami

Hosted by Banco Mercantil, this Chief Risk Officer Forum provides members with the opportunity to discuss the impact of international and local regulatory reforms, identify risk management and training priorities based on global regulatory trends, and conduct regional dialogue with banking regulators. In sum, we seek to facilitate your efforts to develop strong risk management approaches in your organization and to adopt a pragmatic approach to implementing the different new regulatory developments in Latin America.

On November 2nd, Oliver Wyman, the widely known professional firm specialized on risk management for financial institutions has kindly offered to organize, free of charge, a technical seminar focused on risk management issues arising from the financial crisis and their specific applications in the Latin American financial market. There is a description of the workshop attached.

On November 3rd we will hold a session of the LatAm CRO Forum addressing topical issues on financial regulation and risk management including tackling issues regarding risk appetite, risk culture, risk models, and procyclicality, as well as a special section on fraud risk. A draft agenda is also attached.

The sessions will last from 8:30 am to 5 pm on Monday November 2nd and 9 am to 1 pm on Tuesday November 3. The meeting is open to all IIF Members.
