Leading Global Finance Executive Joins the IIF Board of Directors
Washington D.C., August 20, 2012 — The Institute of International Finance announced today that Mr. Anshu Jain, Co-Chairman of the Management Board and the Group Executive Committee of Deutsche Bank has joined the Board of Directors of the Institute of International Finance.
Mr. Douglas Flint, Chairman of the IIF’s Board of Directors and Group Chairman of HSBC Holdings plc, stated, “Anshu brings exceptional experience in international finance and we welcome his counsel in the years ahead as the Institute continues its critical work on behalf of its members.”
Mr. Jain has been Co-Chairman of the Management Board and the Group Executive Committee of Deutsche Bank since June 2012. He has been a member of Deutsche Bank’s Management Board since 2009, and the Group Executive Committee since 2002. He was previously Head of the Corporate & Investment Bank, globally responsible for Deutsche Bank’s Corporate Finance, Sales and Trading, and Global Transaction Banking business. Mr. Jain joined Deutsche Bank in 1995. He was previously a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch in New York. He holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and a BA in Economics from Delhi University.
Mr. Jain led Deutsche Bank’s team advising the UK Treasury on financial stability, with a broad mandate across all elements of the bank rescue package and other financial issues. He was a member of the Financial Services Global Competitiveness Group, tasked by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in July 2008 with a year-long assessment of the UK’s long-term approach to international financial services. He accompanied UK Prime Minister David Cameron and Chancellor George Osborne on their inaugural official visit to India in July 2010. Mr. Jain is a former non-executive director of Sasol, South Africa’s leading oil and gas company.
Mr. Jain received Risk magazine’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010, and is a 2005 recipient of the American Indian Foundation’s Achievement Award for philanthropy and ongoing involvement in India’s development. Euromoney magazine, which granted Mr. Jain its Capital Markets Achievement Award in 2003, named Deutsche Bank as Investment Bank of the Year in 2010 and 2012.
