IIF's Rakhi Kumar Named as One of the "Rising Stars of Corporate Governance," by the Millstein Center for Corporate Governance and Performance

Washington DC, June 10, 2008 — The Millstein Center for Corporate Governance and Performance at the Yale School of Management at Yale University has named 56 young professionals as "Rising Stars of Corporate Governance," including Ms. Rakhi Kumar, Corporate Governance Policy Analyst, the Institute of International Finance.

"Ms. Kumar has been playing leading roles at the IIF in analyzing and reporting on corporate governance in emerging markets. Much of her work over the last year has involved pioneering evaluations of corporate governance in the member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Rakhi has also been contributing significantly in analyzing diverse aspects of the work of ratings agencies in the context of the development of a report, scheduled for release in mid-July, by the IIF's Committee on Market Best Practices," said Mr. Charles Dallara, Managing Director of the IIF.

The Millstein Center stated that its list of Rising Stars recognizes corporate governance professionals under the age of 40 who are making their mark as outstanding analysts, experts, activists, and managers. The honorees were nominated by their peers and selected by a committee of leaders from the Millstein Center, the Open Compliance and Ethics Group, and the International Corporate Governance Network based on criteria such as past accomplishments and thought leadership, future projects and endeavors, reputation among existing industry leaders, and potential to influence the industry in the future.

In a press release, the Center quoted Mr. Ira M. Millstein, senior associate dean for corporate governance at the Yale School of Management, as saying: "This is the first year we are recognizing the next generation of corporate governance leaders. Every one of this year's 56 recipients is a Rising Star in his or her own right. I'm honored to be able to recognize them in this way."
