Statement from IIF President and CEO on Selection of Kevin Hassett for National Economic Council

The Institute of International Finance today issued the following statement from President and CEO Tim Adams, in response to the announcement that President-elect Trump has selected Kevin Hassett to be director of the White House National Economic Council:

“I congratulate Kevin Hassett on his appointment to lead the National Economic Council in the incoming administration. Throughout his distinguished career as a leading intellectual and public servant, Hasset has demonstrated the strong leadership, expansive economic expertise and political judgement required for the role. I am confident that under Kevin's guidance, the Council will continue to provide the President with the strategic counsel needed to support sustained economic growth and capital formation while addressing pressing economic challenges.”
