In our forthcoming online Investor Trip to Egypt on June 12-13, key senior government officials, former IMF staff, and private sector experts will discuss recent developments in the country. Among the key issues to be discussed are: (1) Egypt's dramatic change in fortune due in large part to the historic Ras El-Hekma deal and the resumption/augmentation of the IMF program, which led to close to $60bn in financing commitments from bilateral and multilateral sources;  (2) what this new financing and program means for the Egyptian economy; 3) how committed are the authorities to following the reform path most notably in relation to the exchange rate and privatization of state-owned assets; and 4) can Egypt take full advantage of this opportunity or is it just another false dawn. Our investor trip will also focus on risks that Egypt may face in the short-term, both domestically and externally.
