Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to advance and evolve, driving innovation, reshaping processes, and increasing automation. As AI systems become increasingly embedded in financial services and other critical sectors, understanding the evolving landscape -including emerging technologies like agentic AI - is essential. Hosted alongside the World Bank & IMF Spring Meetings, this IIF roundtable will facilitate an orderly discussion on AI developments with insights from technology leaders and industry practitioners.
The session will explore key themes shaping AI s trajectory:
+ Breakthroughs in AI Technology including Agentic AI: An exploration of the latest AI advancements, with a focus on AI agents and their role in process re-engineering, automation, and rapidly shifting system economics.
+ Financial Services & AI Adoption: Examining new applications, opportunities, and the integration of AI within financial systems, including third-party dependencies and evolving market structures.
+ Governance & Oversight: Addressing the complex intersection of AI, data frameworks, and oversight entanglement - fostering a balanced, pragmatic approach to AI governance.
Emphasis will be placed on the importance of public-private collaboration in navigating AI's transformative impact while ensuring that governance & oversight considerations align with technological realities and actual use, and the session will feature both remarks from lead speakers as well as interactive discussion among participants.
This in-person, invitation-only event will be held under the Chatham House Rule.
