This closed-door session will bring together leaders from the financial services industry, multilateral development banks (MDBs), development finance institutions (DFIs), philanthropic organizations, and government agencies, and will endeavor to:

+ Critically examine the current landscape of private capital mobilization for climate action and development finance

+ Explore prudential and market barriers that constrain the capacity of private investors to lend and engage in MDB/DFI transactions, and develop strategies to overcome these challenges

+ Formulate a targeted set of actions to support a substantial increase in the mobilization of private capital

+ Review recent progress in initiatives focused on private capital mobilization, including efforts to boost transparency in the market, promote greater standardization of models, and the World Bank Private Sector Investment Lab

This event is by invitation only and will be held under the Chatham House Rule.
