Dr. PAN Gongsheng was appointed Party Secretary and Governor of the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) in 2023. He received his Master’s Degree and PhD both in economics from Renmin University of China.
In 1993 Dr. PAN Gongsheng joined the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) and held various positions until 2008. From 2008 to 2012, he served as Vice President of the Agricultural Bank of China (ABC). In 2012 he became the Deputy Governor of the PBOC and from 2016 he also served as Administrator of State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE).
