On January 7, 2019 the IIF submitted its response to the IAIS Recovery Planning Application Paper. The response emphasized the importance of:

• Supervisory flexibility to allow alternatives to recovery plans;
• Insurer flexibility in the design and implementation of recovery plans;
• Focusing recovery planning on the restoration of regulatory capital and liquidity; and
• Group level recovery planning.
