IIF Response to OECD Questionnaire on Cross-border Payments and Data Flow
The IIF has submitted a preliminary response to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD’s) recent questionnaire on cross-border payments and data flow. This questionnaire was intended to build upon prior work including the G20 Roadmap for enhancing cross-border payments and the Financial Stability Board (FSB’s) Recommendations to Promote Alignment and Interoperability Across Data Frameworks Related to Cross-border Payments.
The survey is seeking the nuance that individual firm responses and perspectives can provide and has a relatively compressed timeline; therefore, the IIF concluded that a compiled response would deliver the most appropriate content but would be very challenging to deliver in the time allowed. In the meantime, the IIF has submitted a response that draws from various papers and other resources that we believe may be beneficial to the OECD team as a reference for their work, identifying specific relevant documents and page numbers and aligning them to the questions asked in the survey. The response emphasizes the IIF’s ongoing support for the prior work of the G20 and FSB, and notes that the IIF and its members stand ready to engage in additional discussions and consultations on these topics.
