Melanie Idler is an Associate Policy Advisor in the Regulatory Affairs Department of the IIF. Since joining the IIF in 2020, she has covered regulatory policy developments in sustainable finance, insurance, sanctions, operational resilience, cyber risk, and prudential policy. Her team regularly responds to international standard setting bodies such as the Financial Stability Board, Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, and International Association of Insurance Supervisors. Prior to joining the IIF, Melanie acquired a wide range of experience across the financial services sector working in both consulting and asset management.
Education
Melanie is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist. She has co-taught at Harvard Law School and is a recipient of the Kathryn Davis Fellowship for Peace. She holds a Bachelors degree with Honors from Williams College and a Masters in International Finance from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy – Tufts University.
